AM I SOCIAL
"AM I SOCIAL" is a digital art series that delves into the complexities of identity in the age of social media. This collection invites viewers to explore the multifaceted nature of how we present ourselves online and the ways in which these digital personas can distort our understanding of who we truly are. Each piece in the series peels back the layers of curated images, filtered moments, and crafted narratives that often mask the truth of our existence.
Social media, with its constant stream of updates and validations, can become a double-edged sword. It not only encourages us to construct idealized versions of ourselves but also subtly pressures us to believe in these fabricated identities. In this series, the digital canvases blur the lines between reality and illusion, questioning the authenticity of the lives we portray online. Are we living the lives we show, or are we merely lying to ourselves and others?
"AM I SOCIAL" captures the tension between appearance and essence through abstract forms, fragmented images, and layered textures. It challenges viewers to confront the possibility that much of what we consume and project online may be far from the truth. Yet, amid the deception, there are glimmers of authenticity—moments when the mask slips, and a genuine connection is made. These moments of truth are rare but powerful, reminding us that there is something real waiting to be uncovered beneath the layers.
This project is a visual journey into the heart of our digital lives, prompting us to reflect on the identities we construct and the truths we may be hiding from, both from others and ourselves.
